Job summary

Stella Maris is recruiting for an RN or LPN to provide total nursing care for residents at the Colombiere Jesuit Retirement Facility on Roland Ave. This part-time role (32 hours biweekly) offers PTO, holidays, tuition reimbursement and a strong benefits package in a compassionate, faith-based community.

Coordinate nursing care with interdisciplinary team members, oversee documentation, and ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards while supporting residents and their families.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED CERT/LICENSE: RN or LPN License.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process to identify residents/patients’ needs and provides direct care.
• Monitors residents/patients’ physical/mental status and responds to changes.
• Answers resident call lights and serves as a role model for the care team.
• Completes all documentation per facility standards and nursing practice.
• Enforces infection control standards and safety policies, guiding staff as needed.

To coordinate total nursing for residents in area(s) assigned and to provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other interdisciplinary team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process to identify residents/patients’ needs, using the interdisciplinary team approach to supply appropriate interventions. Provides direct care to residents in accordance with facility standards and standards of nursing practice. Delegates to the LPN, CMA, GNA, unit aid and unit secretary.
• Monitors residents/patients’ physical/mental status on an ongoing basis, responding to clinical changes and emergency situations. Provides clear, professional communication to staff, residents, medical practitioners and family members.
• Answers resident call lights, serving as a role model for all members of the care team.
• Completes all documentation as required by facility standards, regulatory standards and standards of nursing practice.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and enforces Stella Maris infection control standards, emergency procedures, safety policies, and hazardous material procedures. Provides direction to staff as needed during unanticipated situations.
• Responsible for the prudent use of supplies and materials and assures that the environment is maintained in a clean, orderly and comfortable condition, ensuring resident safety.
