Job summary

fanaticsfbg is seeking a mid-level backend engineer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable services powering loyalty experiences during live events. You will own outcomes in a fast-changing environment, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate across teams to deliver time-sensitive features.

The role focuses on robust backend systems, API design, and scalable architectures using Java/Spring.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience in fast-paced environments.
• Proficient in Java and Spring Framework; design RESTful services and microservices.
• Strong debugging skills and production issue resolution
• Understanding of relational or NoSQL databases and data modeling
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset, comfortable with AI-assisted tools

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document, and deploy backend services and APIs for loyalty experiences.
• Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to ship features.
• Contribute to code reviews and ensure long-term maintainability.
• Engage in sprint planning, architecture reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Develop familiarity with platform architecture and key customer use cases
