Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Loyalty Engineering team in the United States. You will design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend services powering loyalty experiences across the Fanatics platform.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders, participate in on-call rotations, and contribute to architecture and continuous improvement initiatives while staying current with backend technologies.

Qualifications

• Backend systems with Java (Spring) expertise.
• RESTful API design, microservices, and OOP fundamentals.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving in production.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Clear communicator and collaborative teammate.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers on features.
• Contribute to code reviews and architecture discussions.
• Engage in sprint planning and continuous improvement.
• Understand system architecture and user scenarios.
• Stay current with backend technologies and best practices.
• Occasional travel to Fanatics offices or events.
