Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Private Equity Associate for Summer 2027 to join a DMV-based private equity firm focused on lower-middle market investments across consumer, services, healthcare, industrials, and manufacturing.

This lean, acquisitive team offers early and significant responsibility, hands-on deal experience, and exposure to all aspects of the investment process, including market research, modeling, and operating company work.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of Investment Banking experience performing M&A with a reputable middle market or lower middle market bank.
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Superior financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills (modeling test).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional work ethic.
• Prior experience or interest in healthcare, business services, industrials, manufacturing or consumer sectors.

Responsibilities

• Execution of broader market and industry research.
• Financial modeling, valuation analysis, and returns analysis for various investment targets.
• Assisting the team with operating/portfolio company work.
