Job summary

Next Level Technician seeks a hands-on Low Voltage Technician with 2+ years of commercial/industrial experience in structured cabling in the Austin area. You will pull and terminate cabling, test with Fluke tools, and install racks, patch panels, and IDF/MDF.

Fieldwork includes reading blueprints, working at heights, and supporting fiber optic, CCTV, and access control systems. Independence in a T2 role is valued, with opportunities for additional projects.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of commercial/industrial low voltage experience.
  • Hands-on experience with structured cabling and voice/data systems.
  • Comfortable working independently at a T2 technician level.
  • Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 cabling, terminations, testing, racks, patch panels, and MDF/IDF.
  • Fiber optic cabling experience a plus.
  • Security systems such as card readers, cameras, or composite cabling a plus.
  • Audio video experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of telecom and data networks.
  • Basic PPE and tools; willingness to travel in Austin area.

  • Punch down voice and data jacks.
  • Install racks, patch panels, cable trays, cabinets, MDF/IDF, and workstation outlets.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, and technical drawings.
  • Work safely on ladders and lifts; comfortable at heights.
  • Troubleshoot structured cabling and low voltage systems as needed.
  • Support fiber optic, access control, CCTV, and audio/visual systems as needed.
  • Maintain quality workmanship and follow jobsite safety requirements.

Low Voltage Technician – Structured Cabling | Austin, Texas Join Next Level Technician as a Low Voltage Technician – Structured Cabling in Austin, Texas! We are looking for experienced T2‑level technicians who can work independently.

Responsibilities
  • Pull, terminate, dress, and label CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
  • Test installed cable using Fluke or similar testers

  • Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the Austin area as needed
