Job summary

A To B Communications LLC is a hands-on, Berlin, CT based team hiring a skilled Low Voltage & Fiber Technician. You will install and test fiber optics, run low voltage cabling, read blueprints, and ensure high safety and quality on every site.

This role emphasizes independent work and team collaboration, with a focus on delivering reliable communications infrastructure for our clients in diverse commercial and industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in low voltage cabling and/or fiber optic installation.
• Proficiency in fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR testing.
• Experience with structured cabling systems (Cat5e/6/6A) and cable management.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode) in commercial and industrial environments.
• Run and terminate low voltage cabling including fiber.
• Perform OTDR testing, fiber splicing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings on job sites.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site safety standards in compliance with industry regulations.

This is a hands‑on technical role where you'll play a key part in delivering reliable, high‑quality communications infrastructure for our clients. • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode) in commercial and industrial environments
• Run and terminate low voltage cabling including fiber
• Perform OTDR testing, fiber splicing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings on job sites
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site safety standards in compliance with industry regulations

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in low voltage cabling and/or fiber optic installation
• Proficiency in fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR/light meter testing
• Experience with structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and cable management
• Equivalent low voltage/fiber certification preferred
• Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and a professional work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in various job site conditions
