Job summary

A To B Communications LLC in Berlin, CT, is seeking a skilled Low Voltage & Fiber Technician to install and service fiber optic and low voltage infrastructure for commercial sites. The role emphasizes hands-on work delivering reliable, high-quality communications infrastructure.

The position requires experience with splicing, termination, OTDR testing, and reading blueprints; you will work on diverse job sites, maintaining safety and quality standards while collaborating with a regional team.

Qualifications

2+ years experience in low voltage cabling and/or fiber optic installation.
Proficient in fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR testing.
Experience with structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and cable management.
Equivalent low voltage/fiber certification preferred.
Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, and technical documentation.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode) in commercial and industrial environments.
Run and terminate low voltage cabling including fiber.
Perform OTDR testing, fiber splicing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings on job sites.
Maintain tools, equipment, and job site safety standards in compliance with industry regulations.
