Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician in the Raleigh, NC area to support day-to-day installation, termination, and testing across data centers, campuses, and commercial projects. You will work with a Lead Technician, learning fiber and copper skills and gradually taking on more ownership.

The role emphasizes hands-on cabling work, teamwork, reliable schedules, and a clear path to growth into lead roles within a family-friendly culture.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screen.

Rather than a pure cabling contractor, we bundle several low-voltage specialties — structured cabling, audio visual, commercial security, fire alarm, fire protection, and electrical — under one roof, so we can be a single vendor handling everything a modern facility needs. Our structured cabling work spans data centers, large campus environments, DAS, sound masking, and wireless, and we do full design/build, taking projects from concept through deployment rather than pure install-only work. Our client base includes corporate, industrial, manufacturing, new construction, retrofit, and state/local government projects.

Job Details

We're looking for a Structured Cabling Technician (2+ years experience) to join a crew and support day-to-day installation, termination, and testing work across data center, campus, and commercial projects. You'll work alongside a Lead Technician, learning the fiber and copper mix (roughly 50/50) and building toward more ownership over time.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test structured cabling (fiber and copper) under the direction of a Lead Technician
• Support crew logistics — materials, staging, and site setup
• Work across data center, campus, and commercial cabling projects
• Assist with testing and certification of completed work
• Learn and build toward leading projects and crews over time

Requirements

Schedule & Location

• Typical hours 8-5pm, occasionally as early as 7am depending on the project
• Rare nights and on-call
• Occasional weekend work tied to customer schedules (roughly 10 weekends/year)
• Local to the Raleigh area, with some travel as needed
