Job summary

Mission Critical Solutions is seeking a Low Voltage Cable Technician in Panama City, FL for a full-time, permanent position with benefits. The role involves installing and terminating a range of devices and cabling, reading prints, and following site supervisor directions.

Responsibilities include installing readers, sensors, and communication equipment; building out rooms; ensuring code compliance; and maintaining safety and quality standards. Travel up to 50% and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a technical role.
  • 2+ years’ experience in commercial building construction related to structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, A/V, paging, nurse call, and sound masking.
  • Reliable transportation and ownership of hand tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to lift >50 pounds and work in high/ confined spaces.
  • Work hours may vary; some jobs may require weekend shifts.

  • Installing and terminating all low‑voltage cabling.
  • Terminating, testing, and labeling end‑user devices; building out communication rooms.
  • Using industry standards and company‑approved installation methods.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable AHJ codes, industry standards, plans, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintaining open communication with direct supervisors to meet quality, performance, and schedule expectations.
  • Following and maintaining proper safety practices.

Overview

Low Voltage Cable Technician – Panama City, FL. Full‑time, permanent position with benefits.

Responsibilities

Low Voltage Cable Technicians must be adaptable, installing and terminating a wide range of devices, reading prints, and following assignments from Site Superintendents or PMs. Key duties include:

  • Installing card readers, door contacts, motion sensors, intercoms, motion detectors, glass break sensors, speakers, nurse call lights, push buttons, and patient stations.
  • Installing and terminating all low‑voltage cabling.
  • Terminating, testing, and labeling end‑user devices; building out communication rooms.
  • Using industry standards and company‑approved installation methods.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable AHJ codes, industry standards, plans, specifications, and wiring diagrams.
  • Maintaining open communication with direct supervisors to meet quality, performance, and schedule expectations.
  • Following and maintaining proper safety practices.
Qualifications
Education

High School diploma or equivalent.

Certification

Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badges.

Experience
  • 2+ years in a technical role.
  • 2+ years’ experience in commercial building construction related to structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, A/V, paging, nurse call, and sound masking.
  • Reliable transportation and ownership of hand tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, lift >50 pounds, climb ladders and scaffolding, and work in high and confined spaces.
  • Work site flexibility: finished interiors or new construction; appropriate dress per environment.
  • Work hours may vary; some jobs may require weekend shifts.
Physical Requirements
  • Climbing ladders, working at heights, confined spaces under raised floors, inside closets, and server racks.
  • Extended standing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching; operating in noisy or temperature‑extreme environments.
  • Lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk or using a PC/laptop.
Other Essential Functions
  • Maintain required certifications or licenses throughout the project or contract.
  • Professional behavior, teamwork, organization, prioritization, and multitasking.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with external customers and internal staff at all levels.
  • Adherence to company dress and grooming standards as per client and OSHA requirements.
  • Potential requirement for a U.S. government security clearance; dual citizens may need to relinquish foreign citizenship.
  • Drug‑free workplace; pre‑employment substance abuse testing and background checks.
