Job summary

Mission Critical Solutions is seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians to lead our small-site integration packages including access controls, security, fire, CCTV, and communications. The role requires travel to client sites for installation, testing, and training, with secret clearance required.

Based from Tampa, FL or Panama City, FL, you will read prints, install devices, terminate cabling, and ensure work meets AHJ codes and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance required for role.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a tech role in the commercial building construction industry related to structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, A/V, paging, nurse call, sound masking.
• Must have reliable transportation and own hand tools.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
• Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites; appropriate dress is required.
• Work hours may vary; some jobs may require weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Install card readers, door contacts, motion detectors, CCTV and related devices.
• Install and terminate all low voltage cabling and label end-user devices; perform comm room build-out.
• Read prints and follow installation methods and industry standards; ensure compliance with AHJ codes.
• Maintain open communication with supervisor to meet quality, schedules, and material requirements.
• Follow and maintain proper safety practices.

Job description

MCS is looking for experienced Low Voltage Technicians to lead our small-site integration package (Access Controls, Security, Fire, CCTV, Communications, etc …) Task Order installations.

This position requires travel to sites for installation, testing, and client training of systems.

Secret Clearance will be required for this role.

2 locations available to be based from: Tampa, FL (HQ) or Panama City, FL. Working at these locations on current packages, while waiting for Traveling Assignment Task Order. These are potentially located at various Military Sites in the U.S.

Travel and Lodging will be covered while on Task Order Assignment.

Low Voltage Cable Technician must demonstrate adaptability by being able to install multiple types of devices. Read prints and follow directions and assignments given to them. They must have good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.

Typical duties include

• Installing card readers, door contacts, motion detectors, intercoms, motion detectors, glass breakers, speakers, nurse call lights, push buttons, and patient stations.
• Installing and terminating all low voltage cabling.
• Terminating, testing, and labeling end‑user devices. Comm room build‑out.
• Utilizing industry standards and company‑approved installation methods and techniques.
• Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
• Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
• Maintaining open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
• Following and maintaining proper safety practices.

• 2+ years in a tech role.
• 2+ years’ experience in the commercial building construction industry related to structured cabling, security, access control, CCTV, A/V, paging, nurse call, sound masking.
