Job summary

Sabre Systems is seeking a System Engineer (Journeyman) to support the Combat Survivability Division at NAS Patuxent River, Lexington Park, MD. This is an on-site, in-person role with 20% travel for LO life cycle management activities.

The candidate will gather, analyze, and manage requirements, generate technical documents, and coordinate across cross-functional teams and external agencies while maintaining security clearances and producing integrated schedules.

Qualifications

• Accredited BS degree in a relevant discipline.
• Systems Engineering experience on multi-level security projects.
• Defense/aerospace or complex technical environment experience.
• Knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle: requirements, design, integration, verification, validation.
• Ability to elicit, analyze and manage requirements from diverse stakeholders.
• Experience identifying and mitigating technical and programmatic risks.
• Strong skills in preparing technical documents and presentations.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Minimum 3 years of recent relevant experience.
• Active TS clearance with SAP eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate and communicate across multi-level security environments.
• Summarize data to support technical documents and briefings.
• Gather and manage requirements from stakeholders to align with objectives.
• Review LO life cycle documentation from design through disposal.
• Identify risks and sustainment needs for LO programs.
• Foster collaboration among teams, offices, contractors, and agencies.
• Prepare technical documents, analyses and plans.
• Maintain integrated master plans and track milestones.
• Analyze readiness and cost data to inform decisions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in LO sustainment.
