Job summary

Sabre Systems, Inc. seeks a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Systems Engineer (Journeyman) to support PMA-272 at NAS Patuxent River in Lexington Park, MD.

This hybrid role requires 2 days on-site and up to monthly travel to sponsor locations. You will perform system research, integration, test and life-cycle support for aircraft protection systems, guide development, and coordinate across Navy, partners and industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• At least three years of relevant experience in a related labor category.
• Demonstrated experience in an engineering discipline.
• Prior involvement with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs desired.
• Understanding of program management, acquisition processes, and international defense cooperation.
• Ability to liaise with U.S. Navy, partners, and industry to meet milestones and deliverables.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills for multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering results on multi-level security projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform research, development, integration, test, acquisition, and life-cycle support of electronic systems for aircrew situational awareness.
• Formulate, design, and test engineering solutions.
• Guide development of modern complex systems.
• Apply systems engineering methods and tools in system development.
• Advise on professional, scientific, or technical aspects of projects.
• Communicate across multi-level security environments.
• Develop new concepts and uses of materials or software.
• Test new equipment or materials with new features.
• Provide technical guidance to managers, peers, and sponsors.
• Summarize data and findings for technical documents and presentations.
• Gather and manage technical requirements from stakeholders.
• Review life cycle documentation for Aircraft Protection Systems.
• Identify readiness and sustainment risks.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among teams.
• Prepare gap analyses, business cases, and status briefs.
• Identify process improvements for sustainment.
• Travel to commands, universities, and sponsor sites to discuss problems and technologies.
