Job summary

Mohegan Sun in Connecticut seeks a friendly bartender/server to take drink orders, prepare and deliver beverages, and ensure guest satisfaction according to established service steps. You will maintain clean dining spaces and assist the bar team in a fast-paced resort setting.

Responsibilities include handling opening/closing duties, staying compliant with state liquor laws and ID checks, and communicating with management about inventory and maintenance needs.

Job description

**Position Summary:** This position is responsible for serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with established department policies, procedures and steps of service. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities:** includes but not limited to: * Takes drink orders from the guests and delivers them in a timely manner, following the established steps of service* Clears dirty glassware, plates and silverware from the patrons* Consistently applies knowledge of the state liquor laws, proper identification procedures, monitoring levels of intoxication, intervention strategies, refusal of service and shut off procedures* Sets up dining room, lounges and other operational stations according to established procedures **Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:** * Assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the outlet* Assists the bartender, as needed* Performs opening and closing duties* Communicates with management on inventory and maintenance needs **Minimum Education and Qualifications:** * Experience in bartending or serving cocktails in a full service restaurant, lounge or showroom/nightclub **Competencies:** Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position: * Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Excellent knowledge of operational policies with regard to hours of operation, types of menus offered, restaurant concepts and marketing programs* Thorough working knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws including proper identification, refusal of service and shut off procedures* Skills in proper tray handling, ordering and garnishing of all beverages **Training Requirements:** * Outlet-specific standard operating procedures* SMART alcohol awareness **Physical Demands and Work Environment:** * Must be able to stand for extended periods of time* Must be able to bend and lift full beverage trays of up to 25 lbs.* Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with frequent interruptions* Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours This is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
