Job summary

Philadelphia Residence Inn is seeking a hospitality-minded server to take orders, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and assist with light meals according to hotel specifications.

The role requires maintaining stock and cleanliness of the outlet, complying with safety rules, and delivering friendly, efficient service to guests while coordinating with management and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
• Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to read safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate with guests and staff.
• High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training a plus.
• Alcohol awareness training (TIPS) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department.
• Maintain safety and quality according to hotel and Franchise specifications.
• Communicate with General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department.
• Maintains food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and Franchise specifications.
• Maintains and abides by standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department.
• Responsible for responding and handling guest related issues pertaining to the department.
• Ensures communication with General Manager, all other Department Managers, Supervisors and Staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
• Ability to accurately compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.
