Job summary

Carleton College Security Services invites applications for a part-time Lost and Found Program Assistant. This student worker position supports the campus lost and found program, based in Hoppin House, with 5 hours per week.

You will collect items, tag and log entries, compare items to the spreadsheet, email owners, assist visitors, and maintain the inventory and room. The role reports to the Security Sergeant and does not supervise others.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and eligible to be insured as a campus driver.

Responsibilities

• Collect items from the lost and found bins across campus.
• Tag, log, and shelve new items.
• Compare incoming items to those listed on “Lost Items” spreadsheet.
• Send emails to owners regarding their property.
• Assist in-person inquirers with locating their property in the lost and found room.
• Update spreadsheets at each phase of custody.
• Rotate inventory based on length of time in custody.
• Remove outdated items and deliver to Lighten Up.
• Maintain lost and found bins across campus.
• Organize, clean, and maintain the lost and found room.
