Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. seeks a Store Security Specialist to provide a visible presence at store entrances/exits, deter theft, and maintain a safe, secure environment for Associates and Customers.

You will monitor for suspicious activity, support Loss Prevention initiatives, and partner with Store Leadership to minimize shortages. The role requires a high school education (AA preferred), 1 year of retail supervision or loss prevention training, and a valid Security Guard license where required.

Qualifications

• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred.
• Active Security Guard License preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
• Excellent Customer service skills.
• Proven ability to effectively resolve conflict.
• Must be able to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
• Provides visible command presence, including greetings with eye contact at store entrances/exits and on sales floor.
• Monitors for potential safety issues and enforces Code 50 package inspection policy.
• Partners with Store Leadership to ensure compliance with Loss Prevention directives.
• Trains and educates Associates on shortage reduction initiatives.
• Performs duties to support loss prevention and minimize operational shortage.
• Represents Ross brand professionally and maintains dress code compliance.
