Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. is hiring a Shortage Control Associate to help create a secure store environment while delivering exceptional customer service. You will monitor entrances, greet customers, and assist with shortage reduction programs and reporting of theft incidents.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations is preferred
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and monitor the store environment
• Confidentiality, positive demeanor, and effective communication with customers and coworkers

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances and high‑risk areas to reduce theft opportunities
• Greet customers with a warm, confident greeting and maintain a professional presence
• Conduct bag and package checks following safety and security standards
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty
• Assist in training associates on shortage reduction programs and safety practices
• Support store leadership with shortage reduction initiatives
