Job summary

Cornerstone Servicing, a division of Cornerstone Capital Bank, seeks a Loss Mitigation Quality Control professional to audit the loss mitigation process in real time. You will provide detailed feedback to managers, ensure compliance with federal, state, investor, insurer, and client rules, and review documents to guarantee accurate final workout terms.

The role requires experience in loss mitigation underwriting, strong organizational skills, and integrity when handling confidential information.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in Loss Mitigation underwriting and operations.
• 5 years of experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae loss mitigation document requirements.
• Understanding of MERS document requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review documents from customers for loss mitigation applications and confirm status.
• Evaluate income and asset documentation for underwriter calculations.
• Analyze underwriting decisions for regulatory adherence.
• Review appeals submitted by customers.
• Confirm accuracy of final workout documents before issue to customers.
• Assist with loss mitigation letters reviews prior to sending.
• Provide feedback and collect data on day-to-day performance of the loss mitigation department.
• Assist with departmental audits and inquiries.

Who we are lookingfor:

The Loss Mitigation Quality Control role will be responsible for the real-time audit of all aspects of the loss mitigation process prior to the issuance of decisions or final documents. The individual in this role will provide detailed feedback to managers, supervisors, and other team members on the quality of work completed and adherence to all published federal, state, investor, insurer, client, and organizational regulations, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review documents received from customers for loss mitigation applications and confirm recommendations of the status of the package (incomplete or complete).
• Evaluate income and asset documentation to confirm the calculations made by a team of underwriters of a customer’s financials.
• Analyze the decisions recommended by a team of underwriters to confirm adherence with all published federal, state, investor, insurer, client and organizational regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Review appeals submitted by customers.
• Confirm the accuracy of terms generated for final workout documents (partial claims, payment supplements, modifications, etc.) prior to the documents being generated and sent to customers.
• Assist with the review of all loss mitigation letters prior to those communications being sent to customers.
• Provide feedback and collect actionable data on the day-to-day performance of the loss mitigation department.
• Assist with departmental audits and requests from internal and external sources.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in Loss Mitigation underwriting and operations. 5 years of experience is preferred.
• High School Diploma / GED Required
• This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Experience with Black Knight Director 7 (MSP) and Loss Mitigation Solution (LMS) preferred.
• Experience working in Fannie Mae – SMDU, Freddie Mac – Resolve, VA – VALERI, and USDA – USDALinc systems preferred.
• Experience in Quality Control systems preferred.
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae permanent loss mitigation document requirements.
• Understanding of Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS) document requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• High level of Integrity/confidentiality while handling secure information in addition to having the ability to work through stressful situations professionally and handle frequent changes.
