Job summary

Underwriter Services Association is seeking independent inspectors to perform loss control inspections for insurance clients. Work involves on-site or office inspections, using templates, collecting photos, diagrams, and interview data, then uploading completed reports within 14 days through the inspector portal.

Flex hours are offered; fieldwork is conducted Monday–Friday with no Sundays. Reports are submitted through a secure portal, and payments are issued as flat rates per inspection,

Qualifications

• Must carry professional liability insurance.
• Must have a FEIN to provide on W9.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Outgoing personality that would enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people.
• Must be able to write comprehensive loss control reports.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and days.
• Must have skills to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and inspection‑related software when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, comprehensive loss control inspection reports as requested by our clients, using established protocols, procedures, and policies.
• Schedule and conduct field or office‑based loss control underwriting inspection reports.
• Use company portal to retrieve assigned work, track status, upload photos, complete forms, and submit reports for QA review.
• Use a personal car, laptop, digital camera, high‑speed internet, cell phone and measuring wheel to conduct inspections.
• Communicate with policyholders, agents, and contacts with strong customer service.
• Conduct Loss Control Surveys at insured locations to identify hazards and exposures.
• Write reports identifying loss conditions and mitigation recommendations.
• Build relationships with contacts while completing all inspection requests.
