Job summary

Wayland Union Schools is seeking a dedicated long-term substitute teacher to join our district. You will teach within a student‑focused culture, using technology to support instruction and regularly communicate with families.

The role requires Michigan certification with Special Education endorsement preferred or a substitute permit, with ability to obtain one. This position is through EduStaff and contingent on background checks.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Michigan teaching certificate with special education endorsement preferred or a viable substitute permit.
• Proven ability to plan instruction, analyze data, and provide interventions and enrichments for students.
• Demonstrate ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive learning environment with effective instruction and routines.
• Utilize varied instructional techniques to promote student growth.
• Use technology to enhance and individualize instruction and stay current with trends.
• Regularly communicate student progress with parents and colleagues.

Qualifications:

• Must possess and maintain a valid Secondary Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement preferred or Full-Year Basic Substitute Teacher Permit required or the ability to obtain one.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team to plan instruction, analyze data, and implement interventions and enrichments for students
• Demonstrate ability to develop and foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff

This is a long term substitute position.

Position will be employed through EduStaff (unless a retired MI teacher)
