Job summary

West Ottawa Public Schools is seeking a long-term substitute math teacher for 8th grade (Alebra & Pre-Algebra) at Harbor Lights Middle School. The assignment runs from September 14, 2026 through December 4, 2026, reporting to the middle school principal.

The substitute will plan and deliver lessons, collaborate with staff, grade assignments, and communicate with students and parents, with compensation based on daily substitute rates and required credentials.

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate required.
• Must be registered with EDUStaff, LLC.
• Mathematics (EX) Endorsement Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Same responsibilities as a full time permanent teacher. This includes but is not limited to planning and delivering lessons, collaborating with colleagues, grading student assignments and communicating with students and their parents.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• The worker is subject to environmental conditions.
• The worker should provide consistent and reliable, and in-person attendance.
