The Greenspire School in Traverse City, MI is seeking a Part-Time Math Substitute Teacher to cover an extended absence. A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement is required, with substitute permit eligibility preferred.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, at $175 per day. Serving grades 6-12, Greenspire School is a public charter school focusing on project-based learning and environmental education.

Responsabilidades

• Explain mathematical concepts, lead classroom activities, and provide additional support to students who need assistance understanding course material.
• Monitor student progress, assess understanding, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records of assignments, attendance, and grades as needed.
• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment by implementing classroom expectations and addressing student behavior appropriately.
• Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff to maintain instructional consistency and communicate student needs or concerns.
• Maintain classroom organization, prepare instructional materials, and complete other duties related to the teaching assignment.

Job Summary

The Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher is responsible for providing classroom instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment during an extended teacher absence. This position delivers math instruction, supports student academic progress, and ensures continuity of classroom expectations, curriculum, and daily routines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an appropriate Mathematics endorsement preferred.
• Valid Michigan Substitute Teaching Permit or eligibility to obtain the appropriate permit through the school required.
• Previous classroom teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
