West Ottawa Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute 5th Grade Teacher for Woodside Elementary School to cover a maternity leave from 10/05/2026 to 12/18/2026. The teacher will deliver daily instruction, assess student work, and maintain communication with families.

The role requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate; EDUStaff registration is required, and an Elementary (ZG) Endorsement is preferred. This on-site assignment is based in Holland, MI and offers daily sub pay.

Responsibilities

• This position has all the full-time responsibilities as permanent 5th grade teacher while she is out on maternity leave. This includes, planning and delivering lessons, collaborating with staff, grading student work and communicating with students and their parents.

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

• Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; those activities where detailed or import spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

• Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
