Job summary

Beverly Public Schools seeks a Special Education Teacher for a long-term substitute position to cover a leave of absence, starting in late September 2026. The teacher will plan, instruct, and assess collaboratively with content teachers to support student growth.

The role requires MA DESE Special Education certification, SEI endorsement within a year, and experience with MA Curriculum Frameworks for ELA/Math as well as data-driven progress reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience writing IEP goals and collecting data.
• Use of assessment tools to support eligibility decisions.
• Experience with diverse disabilities and instruction across reading, math, and written language.
• Ability to communicate with staff and families and coordinate with outside providers.

Responsibilities

• Write and plan IEP goals, monitor student progress and report data.
• Collaborate with content teachers to design instruction and accommodations.
• Provide direct instruction and differentiate lessons for varied learning needs.
• Maintain communication with parents and outside agencies about student progress.
• Plan lessons with accommodations for different learning styles and needs.
• Manage classroom behavior to support a productive learning environment.
