Job summary

Wayland Union Schools in Michigan is seeking a part-time student services assistant to supervise recess and lunch and provide academic and behavioral support to students through one-on-one and small-group instruction. You will collaborate with teachers to implement interventions and maintain daily routines.

Attendance is essential; duties run about 11:30am-2:40pm, ~15 hours per week, now through ~October 30, 2026, contingent on a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience working with adolescent aged children preferred.
• Discrete with communication and maintains confidentiality.
• Capable of following directives of professional staff.
• Dependable, punctual, and positive work history.
• Ability to utilize technology and Google applications.

Responsibilities

• Support building needs such as recess and lunch supervision.
• Provide academic and behavioral support to students through one-on-one and small group instruction, behavior interventions, sensory breaks, and other individualized supports as needed.
• Assist teachers in all other areas as directed.
• Support building routines as outlined by the Building Principal.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by administrator.
• Attendance is an essential function for this position.
