Job summary

Wayland Union Schools is seeking a dedicated substitute teacher to join our district. The role ensures daily coverage, maintaining high-quality instruction and a positive learning environment for students K-12.

Responsibilities include day-to-day classroom management, technology integration, and reliable attendance records. Qualified candidates will hold an Associate degree or 60 credits, with Michigan teaching certification preferred or the ability to obtain a substitute permit.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or minimum 60 credit hours. Michigan teaching certificate preferred or substitute permit required or ability to obtain one.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Punctual, dependable and reliable work history.

Responsibilities

• Guarded sub will report to assigned building each morning; 1st priority as a substitute teacher.
• Maintain a positive learning environment with effective instruction.
• Use technology to enhance instruction and engagement.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrator.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Guaranteed Subs will report to their assigned building each morning. Work as a teacher sub is 1st priority.
• Establish a positive learning environment with highly effective instruction
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by administrator

Terms of Employment:

This is a guaranteed sub position that is guaranteed work for 143 days during the school year, starting September 2025. Position will be employed through EduStaff and is subject to passing post offer background checks
