Job summary

Wayland Union Schools is seeking a guaranteed substitute teacher to join our district. Substitutes report to their assigned building each morning and prioritize teaching duties, ensuring continuity of instruction and a positive learning environment.

This role guarantees 143 workdays during the school year starting September 2025 and is employed through EduStaff, with background checks required after offer.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or minimum 60 credit hours required.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred or substitute permit attainable.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree required/minimum of 60 credit hours. Valid Michigan teaching certificate preferred or Full-Year basic substitute teacher permit required or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Guaranteed Subs will report to their assigned building each morning. Work as a teacher sub is 1st priority.
• Establish a positive learning environment with highly effective instruction
• Utilize technology to enhance instruction.
• Attendance is an essential job function.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by administrator

Terms of Employment:

This is a guaranteed sub position that is guaranteed work for 143 days during the school year, starting September 2025.

Position will be employed through EduStaff and is subject to passing post offer background checks
