Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department is preferred.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs and quality assurance.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; document progress notes.
• Develop and maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly.
• Prepare activity rooms and suggest equipment and supplies needs.
• Follow care plans and assist residents with crafts, projects, and errands.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident care information and treat residents with dignity.
• Oversee residents during activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
• Assist in-room residents by visiting, writing letters, running errands, and assisting with crafts.
