Job summary

PDI (Perishable Distributors of Iowa, LTD.) is seeking a Transportation Generalist to provide clerical and scheduling support within the Transportation department. You will coordinate pickups, manage scheduling data in systems, and assist with invoicing and load tracking.

The role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with multiple systems. This is a non-exempt, on-site position offering team-oriented training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year clerical or office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
• Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.
• Performs clerical functions including filing, copying, posting, data entry, and answering phones.
• Schedules and coordinates pickups and deliveries for backhaul and contract freight orders.
• Enters times and scheduling information into Prospero.
• Maintains customer scheduling information in Prospero.
• Performs administrative functions for WMS and Prospero tracking and closing orders.
• Troubleshoots problems and resolves issues.
• Issues Com Data when needed.
• Sorts and distributes paperwork to proper areas of the office.
• Back-up for Transportation Administrative Assistant and Contract Freight Coordinators.
• Handles and investigates past-due invoices.
• Helps customers with load tracking and invoicing inquiries.
• Works with accounting to invoice customers.
