The position offers a $70,000 salary with a Tuesday–Saturday 1:00am–11:00am shift, and requires prior dispatching or routing experience plus strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in transportation dispatching or routing; East Coast regional experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of DOT rules and compliance requirements.
• Ability to coordinate multiple drivers, routes, deliveries, and changing priorities.
• Experience working in a union environment preferred.
• Commercial driving experience is a plus (Van, Sprinter, Class B or A).

Responsibilities

• Develop daily truck routes and driver schedules based on demand and resources.
• Coordinate driver staffing to meet daily workload.
• Communicate with Sales, Operations, Shipping, Office Management, and Yard to schedule deliveries.
• Monitor driver attendance, logs, and compliance with policies and DOT regulations.
• Utilize GPS and transportation systems to monitor routes and deliveries.
• Enter customer orders and process invoices using the Unix system.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding delivery schedules and ETAs.
• Conduct driver audits and review post-route documentation for accuracy.
• Prepare Route Analysis and Truck Load Analysis to improve efficiency and utilization.
• Monitor daily transportation activity and address scheduling, staffing, routing, and delivery issues.
• Identify operational challenges and propose process improvements.
• Promote a professional, safety-conscious, team-oriented work environment.
• Ensure transportation activities comply with DOT requirements.
