Job summary

City of Fort Worth seeks a Logistics Supervisor to lead EMS logistics operations, ensuring ambulances stay stocked and compliant while maintaining inventory integrity. The role requires coordinating procurement, QA, and regulatory compliance to support emergency services.

The incumbent will supervise EMS logistics staff, manage vendor relations, and provide guidance on inventory control, documentation, and after-hours readiness for critical events.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business or related field.
  • 4 years EMS logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain experience.
  • 1 year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and daily oversight of EMS Logistics personnel, including assigning work and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Oversee inventory management and readiness of medical supplies, controlled substances, and equipment.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate documentation; conduct quality controls and investigations of discrepancies.
  • Coordinate logistics for emergencies, mass casualty incidents, and after-hours/on-call responses.
  • Serve as SME for EMS logistics operations, providing training and onboarding of staff.

Pay Range: $26.38 - $34.30/hr. | $54,879 - $71,343 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday 07:00am – 3:30pm; Some evening/weekend work required.

A Logistics Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Logistic department with the Fort Worth Fire Department. The department ensures ambulances remain fully stocked, compliant, and ready for service. The Logistics Department is responsible for managing all medical supplies and equipment for the ambulance fleet.

Primary Duties Include
  • Monitoring expiration dates of medications and supplies
  • Maintaining accurate inventory counts and stock levels
  • Ensuring availability of essential supplies for operations
  • Receiving, inspecting, and processing supply orders
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, purchasing, accounting or related field
  • Four (4) years of prior EMS logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain operations experience required
  • One (1) year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Must be able to drive an ambulance and have a driving record in compliance with policy regarding insurability
  • Must pass Drug Screen, Physical
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with vendor relationship management
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and equipment
  • Experience with managing multiple supply locations
The Logistics Supervisor Job Responsibilities Include
  • Provide leadership and daily oversight of EMS Logistics personnel, including assigning work, ensuring compliance with policies, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment
  • Oversee inventory management and operational readiness of medical supplies, controlled substances, durable medical equipment, and emergency response vehicles through quality assurance, audits, and inventory control processes
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies through accurate documentation, quality control inspections, controlled substance management, and investigation of inventory discrepancies
  • Support emergency preparedness by coordinating logistics for mass casualty incidents, special events, and other emergency operations, including after-hours and on-call response as needed
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for EMS logistics operations by providing technical guidance, training, mentoring, and onboarding of logistics personnel

Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, human excrement, blood, urine, mucous & tissue.

Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
