Job summary

The City of Fort Worth Logistics Department is seeking a Logistics Technician to manage medical supplies for the ambulance fleet. You will monitor inventory, restock equipment, and ensure readiness for service across fire stations.

Required are a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an ambulance with insurability. You will work Thursday–Sunday, with shifts starting early in the morning, and you’ll be part of a team focused on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • High school diploma or GED with no formal experience required.
  • Must be able to drive an ambulance and maintain insurability.
  • Pass drug screen and medical fitness tests.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor expiration dates of medications and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock levels.
  • Ensure availability of essential supplies for operations.
  • Receive, inspect, and process supply orders.
  • Restock ambulances to a Par level of supplies.
  • Pull and deliver supply requests to Fire Stations.

A Logistics Technician job is available with the City of Fort Worth Logistic department with the Fort Worth Fire Department. The Logistics Department is responsible for managing all medical supplies and equipment for the ambulance fleet. The department ensures ambulances remain fully stocked, compliant, and ready for service.

Primary Duties Include
  • Monitoring expiration dates of medications and supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory counts and stock levels.
  • Ensuring availability of essential supplies for operations.
  • Receiving, inspecting, and processing supply orders.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and no experience
  • Must be able to drive an ambulance and having a driving record in compliance with policy regarding insurability
  • Must pass Drug Screen, Physical.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in supply chain, inventory management, or a warehouse
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medications, and equipment
  • Experience with inventory management software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
The Logistics Technician Job Responsibilities Include
  • Inventory medical supplies and equipment
  • Preform count of supplies and update inventory management system
  • Track expired medications and supplies
  • Restock ambulances to a Par level of supplies
  • Pull and deliver supply request to Fire Stations
  • Assist ambulance crews in obtaining new supplies or equipment
Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, human excrement, blood, urine, mucous & tissue.
Heavy Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
