Job description

As a Logistics Specialist I, you assist with the preparation of logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. You support routing, documenting, and coordinating shipping logistics, maintaining records of equipment, components, repair parts, and related manuals, and tracking logistics materials and parts for proper allocation of storage facilities. You will learn applicable state, federal, and global regulations, including import/export requirements.

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:

• Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
• Perform repeated hand, arm, and finger motions, including dexterity tasks.
• Visual abilities needed include close, distance, depth perception, and color differentiation.
• Occasionally discern different tones and volumes by hearing.
• Frequently lift or carry up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

• Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements such as high/low temperatures, sun, rain, or snow.
• Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
• Occasionally exposed to loud noises.

Safety Sensitive Position:

This role involves responsibility for the safety and security of people or property, including inspecting, handling, or transporting explosives, hazardous materials, structures, equipment, or vehicles. It may involve aviation-related duties and operating or supervising heavy or dangerous machinery.

Must-Haves:

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with inventory databases and familiarity with inventory, supply chain, and logistics principles.
• Knowledge of AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems.
• HazMat training or certification.
• Ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred).
• Experience with shipping databases like FedEx, DHL, UPS.
• Understanding of shelf life considerations.
• Background in aerospace, defense industry, US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED; higher degrees may substitute for experience.
• Related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Ability to pass a DOT Physical and provide an MVR.
