LOGISTICS/FOOD SAFETY MANAGER I (Finance)

Provide food safety leadership to the operation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Kroger food safety and quality requirements related to the receiving, storage, and distribution of food and non-food products. Leverage technical expertise and leadership to assure safety and quality of products. Provide necessary training and proactive solutions for the sanitation crew, facility management, and hourly associates on food safety and sanitation. Develop procedures, inspect, and coordinate all cleaning functions of the facility and grounds. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate Degree in food science or related field, or 3 years of food safety experience in retail, distribution, or manufacturing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• If not certified, develop a plan for PCQI, FDQI, HACCP certification within the first 9 months in role
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and reasoning skills
• Strong communication, facilitation, and training skills

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with GFSI standards
• Experience with USDA, FDA, or State food safety and sanitation inspections, FSMA, HACCP regulations, and Pest Control
• Experience in Food Safety Leadership
• FDA Preventive Controls Training (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)
• Certification in Seafood HACCP

Responsibilities

• Review, develop, and implement policies, procedures, and standards to meet federal regulations and industry best practices in food safety, quality, and sanitation
• Provide leadership and feedback to site personnel responsible for food safety and sanitation, fostering a food safety culture
• Develop and execute continuous improvement projects to enhance food safety, sanitation, and inventory control
• Provide and document food safety and quality training for supply chain personnel
• Maintain good relationships with FDA, USDA, and other governmental agencies
• Develop, implement, and maintain GFSI certification for the operation
• Ensure receipt, storage, and distribution of safe, quality foods meeting regulatory and company standards
• Oversee accuracy of product receiving and resolve discrepancies
• Accompany inspectors during audits, address issues with corrective actions
• Supervise and coach direct reports, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback
• Travel independently to other site locations
