Job Description: Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist will have:

  • 15 years of experience in logistics support, preferably providing support to the United States Navy or other Department of Defense entities.
  • Functional knowledge of AR 710-4, AR 735-5, JLDW/HRM II proficiency, and research skills in MILSTRIP and commercial logistics requirements.
  • Understanding of the Classified Accountable Property of Record (APSR) database.
  • Experience handling classified materials and their disposition.
  • Qualifications in handling military communications equipment.
  • Training or experience in Unit Level property accountability.
Job Objective

Support the N74 with logistics functions including shipping, receiving, processing, sustainment, maintenance, and accountability of equipment. Assist in coordinating, integrating, and executing logistics support functions.

Responsibilities
  1. Identify and receive materials, parts, and supplies for immediate support of operations and projects.
  2. Track cargo movement and provide status updates.
  3. Examine received items, verify details against shipment documentation, and report discrepancies or damages.
  4. Verify condition, completeness, and serviceability of parts before distribution.
  5. Process receipt and turn-in of materials following supply chain policies.
  6. Prepare materials for final shipment, ensuring adherence to schedules.
  7. Review stock levels and identify alternative sourcing options.
  8. Manage stock rotation for items with limited shelf life.
  9. Maintain warehouse stock and location lists.
  10. Assist with parts load lists and maintenance records.
  11. Prepare requisitions based on project needs and stock evaluations.
  12. Refer unresolved shortages to the Government and suggest solutions.
  13. Become a SME in JLDW processes and undergo specialized training.
  14. Ensure shipment packaging meets safety standards and use proper handling methods, including forklift operation.
  15. Maintain forklift operator licenses as required.

  • High School Diploma required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
