We are seeking a qualifiedPersonnel Security & Logistics Specialist in Virginia Beach, VA.

Position Description:

The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) PHD Virginia Beach Detachment (Dam Neck, VA) is seeking a Personnel Security & Logistics Specialist to provide critical support for U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) systems and programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in security, logistics, and data management support for defense or government projects, and will work directly with NSWC PHD teams and USMC stakeholders to ensure successful execution of program objectives. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for the management of the security program.This includes ensuring that the program complies with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Manage access control to classified areas.
  • Report any security violations or incidents.
  • Develop and maintain the facility's security policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to customers, including shipment updates and delivery notifications
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries, and arrange transportation
  • Prepare bills and invoices, and enter costs
  • Maintain and file all shipment records
  • Understanding of system, event, and operational requirements once briefed by the team manager is key to being successful in this position.
  • The ideal candidate would possess excellent team skills and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • The position will include collaboration within a team environment while emphasizing individual data collection and contributions to test execution that are valuable to the customer.
  • The successful candidate must have good people skills and be willing to travel at least 75% of the year to multiple locations within CONUS to support planning conferences and events.
  • At a minimum, a high school degree and 5-10 years of general work experience with a background in ATC or USMC ground-based radars is also desired.

Other Requirements:

  • Daily duties will include working with data collectors and other data management personnel to capture observations, notes, and recording of various system maintenance actions.
  • Shift work may be required at times to support event objectives and will require flexibility for a dynamic schedule.
  • The ability to understand system and event requirements is highly desired. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals of different experience levels and backgrounds including government and external industry personnel. The ability to follow defined processes, implement, and focus on event objectives to achieve a strategic goal is a must.
  • Function as a "team player" and have the willingness to take on challenging tasks as they surface.
  • This position may require that the individual be able to travel to support Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside of the Continental United States (OCONUS) activities.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Knowledge of USMC programmatic and operational processes is highly desired.
  • Experience with logistics and resource management within defense programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.

Travel Requirements:

  • If remote, travel requirements (>50%)
