Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a Safety Specialist to drive a culture of safety within its Contract Logistics operations in the United States. You will partner with the QSHE Manager to lead safety initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and build knowledge and skills for safe daily work.

The role emphasizes training, employee engagement, and continuous improvement with opportunities to influence practices and safety performance across the operation.

Qualifications

• 2 years in a safety role that required training using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• 2 years leadership, public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
• 2 years in Contract Logistics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct training (Material handling Equipment and SOPs) during onboarding/orientation for new hires.
• Enforce safety rules and safe work practices among all team members.
• Supervisor, coach and evaluate trainees.
• Identify current and future skill gaps through analysis and performance reviews.
• Define metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and report results to management.
• Conduct routine daily, weekly or monthly audits and assessments.

As a Safety Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating and maintaining a culture where safety comes first.
