Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a results-driven HR Generalist in the United States, based in China Grove or Laurel Hills, with responsibilities across staffing, onboarding, HR programs, and compliance.

In this role you will partner with business leaders, coordinate recruiting, maintain HR records, prepare HR reports, and support temporary staffing agencies. This position does not require visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of Human Resources experience, including recruiting coordination, staffing support, employee onboarding, and HR administration.
  • Experience maintaining confidential employee records and HRIS.
  • Knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local employment laws, including EEO requirements.
  • Experience preparing HR-related reports, workforce metrics, and personnel documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees, leaders, candidates, and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting and staffing activities by coordinating interviews, scheduling candidate communications, maintaining applicant tracking systems, and assisting hiring managers throughout the hiring process.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and onboarding programs to ensure a positive and compliant employee experience from day one.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, position profiles, and HR systems while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain HR reports and metrics, including staffing, headcount, diversity, and EEO reporting.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for temporary staffing agencies, coordinating workforce needs, onboarding activities, and ongoing communication between Kuehne+Nagel and external partners.
  • Support HR programs and special projects, including employee relations initiatives, unemployment claim administration, internal audits, employee communications, and safety-related programs.

This position will be based in either China Grove or Laurel Hills, location will be determined upon offer. The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting employees and business leaders across all aspects of Human Resources. This position helps drive staffing success, enhances the employee experience, supports HR programs and compliance initiatives, and leads special projects that contribute to organizational growth and operational excellence.

How you create impact

What we would like you to bring

  • Experience supporting high-volume recruiting or warehouse/distribution environments.
  • Experience working with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
  • Experience coordinating temporary staffing agency relationships.
  • Bilingual ( English/Spanish), depending on business needs.
