Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel is seeking a facilities project professional in the United States to design, manage, and optimize contract logistics solutions. You will lead facility and equipment projects, coordinating with Owners, Architects, and General Contractors to meet TI specs and schedules.

In this hybrid role, travel up to 30% is required. A 3–5 year distribution-facility background and a Bachelor's in Engineering or related field are needed, along with AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of facility, equipment maintenance and implementation experience in a distribution environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new building construction, tenant improvement, and up-fit projects with Owners, Architects, and GCs within TI specs and budget.
  • CAD layout design for space utilization, financials, and code compliance.
  • Update Equipment Pricing file for new business and ongoing support.
  • Provide Hazardous Materials storage and handling designs that are code compliant with stakeholders.
  • Develop facility sub-project plans and track implementation timelines with KN/Customer objectives.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Finance, Security, IT and other PMs to align goals.

How you create impact
  • Manage new building construction, tenant improvement, and up-fit projects by collaborating with Owners, Architects, and General Contractors to ensure tenent improvement TI Spec’s and budget are adhered to throughout the project.
  • Warehouse and office Computer Aided Design- CAD layout design based on customer requirements to maximize space utilization, financial considerations, and compliance with National Fire Protection Associaition and building code regulations.
  • Update the Equipment Pricing file as required for new business and ongoing operational support.
  • Provide Hazardous Materials storage, handling support and designs that are code compliant by interfacing with the customer, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, fire consultants and authorities having local jurisdiction.
  • Develop facility sub-project plans and recommendations in support of KN/Customer objectives and implementation timelines; track and report on the status of the project.
  • Work with new and existing vendors to research, specify, and recommend capital equipment acquisitions i.e. racking, Material Handling Equipmentin, furniture, conveyor systems, generators, cold rooms, etc…. as well as managing the delivery schedule and installation.
  • Interface with Purchasing, Finance, Security, IT and other sub-project managers to align goals, objectives, and priorities.
  • Identify, track, manage and mitigate project issues and risks.
  • Escalate issues and concerns to the appropriate parties to minimize any potential impact to the project timeline and successful implementation.
What we would like you to bring
  • Must have at least 3 to 5 years of facilty, equipment maintenance and implementation experience in a distribution environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Logistics or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products (including Microsoft Project and Visio) required.
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment and communicate (verbal and written) effectively with customers, peers and senior management.
  • Strong operational knowledge/Expert problem solver.
  • The ability to create and manage work plans and timelines and handle multiple priorities is essential.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements.
  • Proven business acumen and possess professional business demeanor.
  • Be well organized with great follow-up skills.
  • Ability to handle multi-tasking in an organized manner.
