Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Account Specialist in Tempe, AZ. You will support Transportation Services inbound operations, analyze shipper performance, and coach shippers to ensure smooth movement of goods from warehouses to facilities.

You will use data-driven insights, build vendor relationships, and drive improvements across transportation processes. The role emphasizes collaboration, real-time problem solving, and ownership of assigned accounts, with a hybrid-to-on-site shift as the team

Qualifications

• Experience in account management or vendor management, preferably supporting B2B customers.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support and coach external partners.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate multiple systems and databases efficiently.
• Strong Excel skills or the ability to quickly learn and apply Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with shippers and internal teams.
• Experience or knowledge in logistics, transportation, sales, supply chain, or intermodal operations.
• Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to earn trust and maintain productive partnerships.
• Effective organizational skills, including managing multiple accounts, emails, calls, and daily logs.
• Ability to manage disruptions in real-time and identify lowest-cost effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
• Comfort working heavily in Outlook and managing high volumes of email correspondence.
• Alignment with principles such as earning trust, delivering results, taking ownership, maintaining a bias for action, and deep diving into problems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, verify, and present transportation and shipper performance data daily.
• Overcome disruptions in real time to keep freight moving origin to destination.
• Identify root causes of defects and develop corrective actions.
• Maintain detailed logs and documentation for assigned shippers.
• Lead weekly calls with shippers to review performance and improvement plans.
• Lead Daily Business Review stand-up calls to share updates and coordinate actions.
• Manage a portfolio of vendors receiving purchase orders.
• Ensure vendors can reliably move goods to Amazon facilities.
• Use multiple systems and Excel to analyze data and support decisions.
• Build strong relationships with shippers and internal partners.
• Manage disruptions by identifying lowest-cost solutions and coordinating with relevant parties.
• Proactively identify risks and drive results.
