Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Wayne, USA seeks a General Manager of operations to oversee strategic direction, compliance, and financial results for a designated operation. You will champion LEAN practices, Six Sigma initiatives, ISO activities, and client contract negotiations while mentoring leaders and growing new business.

As a key customer interface, you will manage budgeting, safety, and operations performance, develop marketing plans, and ensure alignment with the company

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 7 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
• 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in logistics/distribution/supply chain environment in operations management capacity.
• Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that systems and procedures are in place for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
• Leads operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals. Complies with terms outlined in site operating agreement with the client.
• Sets goals to drive company Continuous Improvement efforts.
• Works to develop and maintain productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, and all business partners; ensures OSHA and all federal/state compliance.
• Develops and manages a system of controls to ensure service levels and performance goals are met within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
