J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts while ensuring safe, on-time freight movement and top-tier customer service. Training includes DOT compliance and company policy enforcement.

The role focuses on driver development, carrier relations, and hands-on experience in planning, routing, and reporting. Kansas City/Edgerton area, full‑time position with growth potential within the Supply Chain team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field; or 1 year management/transportation experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company events as applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and safe, reliable outside carriers for seamless new carrier setup.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support fleet optimization projects.
• Learn personnel management including training and orientation of drivers and staff.
• Analyze KPIs and present customer reporting and financial analysis with clients.
• Gain knowledge to manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance fleet capacity.
• Perform payroll, Net-Revenue budget management, and pay issue resolution.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety issues.
