Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn supervision of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts. Training covers DOT compliance, freight routing, and customer service excellence.

The role includes hands-on experience in fleet operations, payroll, budgeting, and performance reporting, with travel and potential regional relocation as part of development within the company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
• High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of management/transportation experience or related field.
• Willingness to travel to account locations and relocate regionally as needed.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure smooth new carrier setup.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Train drivers and staff; assist with internal and client systems.
• Analyze P&L, generate customer reports, and present findings to customers.
• Assist with payroll, budgeting, driver counseling, and safety compliance tasks.
