Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. seeks a Manager Trainee in California to learn how to manage a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends, while ensuring safe and timely freight movement and top-tier customer service.

You will be trained to comply with DOT regulations, manage driver performance, payroll tasks, and financial reporting, and coordinate with drivers, customers, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field, or 1 year of management/transportation experience with a HS diploma.
• Willing to travel to account/customer locations and work nights/weekends as needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate based on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build relationships with drivers and outside carriers for smooth carrier set-up and productivity.
• Fill in for absent staff and support fleet optimization projects to improve profitability.
• Train drivers and staff, and assist with internal/customer systems and reporting.
• Manage yard, inspect equipment, schedule maintenance, and resolve safety issues.
• Plan loads, route freight, monitor movement, and respond to service issues.
