J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a Manager Trainee in Barrington, IL to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts.

You will oversee safe freight movement, load assignment, and top-tier customer service while training for DOT compliance and driver/cust. relations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military/experience as listed in minimum qualifications.
• Willingness to travel to account locations and events.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.
• Experience managing a team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relations with drivers and outside carriers for seamless new carrier setup.
• Fill in for absent staff and assist with fleet optimization projects.
• Train drivers and employees on internal and customer systems.
• Plan and monitor freight, measure KPIs, and present customer reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage yard operations and coordinate with maintenance for vehicle readiness.
• Resolve service issues with drivers, customers, and company staff.
• Maintain DOT compliance and enforce safety policies across operations.
• Assign loads, plan routes, monitor freight movement, and adjust ETAs as needed.
