Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Chester, NY, is seeking a Manager Trainee in the Supply Chain department.

Under supervision, you will learn to manage a small driver count, handle non-traditional shifts (including nights and weekends), and ensure safe, timely movement of freight with excellent customer service. This program trains you to ensure DOT compliance, oversee driver performance, plan routes, monitor loads, and collaborate with drivers, customers and internal teams to optimize fleet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Willing to travel to account locations and event sites as needed.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends and relocate regionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build positive relationships with drivers and carriers to support onboarding and productivity.
• Fill in for staff and on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Assist with training drivers and employees on internal and customer systems.
• Assist in route planning, load assignment, and monitoring to meet customer requirements.
• Support payroll, budgets, safety compliance, and reporting duties as assigned.
