Job summary

Priority Waste in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead a team of drivers and coordinate daily logistics operations, ensuring safe, efficient waste collection and excellent service.

You will act as liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams, oversee route performance, provide real-time support, and drive continuous improvements to enhance efficiency and the driver and customer experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Strong routing, dispatch and fleet operations knowledge.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and logistics systems.
• Customer-focused with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of drivers, including daily oversight, coaching, and performance management.
• Assign and adjust routes and carrier responsibilities to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide real-time support to drivers throughout their routes, resolving service, safety, and equipment issues.
• Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Communicate with drivers and internal teams via phone, Teams chat, and video.
• Collaborate with logistics, customer service, and quality teams to drive service excellence.
• Track, trace, and update the status of daily waste removal routes using internal systems.
• Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new drivers and provide ongoing coaching.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational enhancements.
• Monitor waste storage areas, documentation, equipment, and procedures from the Detroit yard.
