Job summary

Priority Waste is seeking a Logistics Manager based in Hamtramck, MI to lead a drivers team and coordinate daily logistics operations for safe, efficient waste collection. You will serve as liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams, with a focus on real-time support and route performance.

Responsibilities include supervising drivers, assigning routes, resolving issues, and driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or related field; supervisory experience required.
• Strong knowledge of routing, dispatch, and fleet operations.
• Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and operate in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of drivers, including daily oversight, coaching, and performance management.
• Assign and adjust routes and carrier responsibilities to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Provide real-time support to drivers throughout their routes, resolving service, safety, and equipment issues.
• Serve as the escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Communicate with drivers and internal teams via phone, Microsoft Teams chat, and video.
• Collaborate with logistics, customer service, and quality teams to drive service excellence.
• Track, trace, and update the status of daily waste removal routes using internal systems.
• Monitor route performance and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new drivers and provide ongoing coaching.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational enhancements.
• Monitor waste storage areas, documentation, equipment, and procedures from the Hamtramck, MI yard.
