J.B. Hunt is seeking a Manager Trainee in California to learn driver management and fleet optimization. The role covers scheduling, load planning, and ensuring safe, on-time freight movement with strong customer service focus.

You will train on DOT compliance, payroll, budgeting, and reporting while collaborating with drivers and external carriers to support profitability and service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Admin/Logistics or related field, or 1 year of managerial experience with equivalent military service.
• Willing to travel to account and client locations as needed.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and weekends.

Responsabilités

• Learn to manage a small driver count and non-traditional shifts while ensuring DOT-compliant operations.
• Build relationships with drivers and external carriers to optimize carrier setup and productivity.
• Plan loads, routes, and delivery windows to meet customer requirements and safety standards.
• Assist with payroll, budget management, invoicing, and performance reporting.
• Coordinate maintenance and equipment readiness with internal teams.
