The role combines a hunter mentality with operator discipline to manage the lifecycle of a load from inception to delivery, requiring 2+ years in 3PL freight brokerage and strong CRM/TMS skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in 3PL freight brokerage or carrier relations.
• Deep understanding of truckload operations, equipment types, lane trends, and required documentation (BOLs, Rate Confirmations).
• Advanced communication skills for persuasive sales calls and handling high-stress operations crises.
• Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
• Ability to quickly calculate margins, mileage, and rate-per-mile for profitability.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and develop freight sales to build a sustainable book of business.
• Outbound outreach to logistics managers via calls, emails, and LinkedIn.
• Manage leads in CRM, track status, and maintain follow-up cadence.
• Analyze lanes and market capacity to identify opportunities.
• Negotiate rates and convert leads to customers.
• Serve as operational backstop for customer service escalations.
• Monitor load lifecycle for carrier compliance and timely updates.
• Communicate shipment status and delays to customers.
• Troubleshoot bottlenecks to uphold service commitments.
